Using Outer Space to explore Inner Space.

Inner Spaces is an art collection that explores the planetary forces shaping our inner and outer worlds, weaving astrology, art, and personal experience into a visual and conceptual journey. This project is an invitation to explore not just astrology, but the deeper forces guiding our personal evolution. I created this series to aid in my personal learning so each piece will have an accompanying blog, where I share what I’ve learned and how I connect the themes to my art. Let’s dive in —

Mars

1. Core Themes & Energy

- Keywords: Action, desire, determination, passion, aggression, transformation.

- Rulership: Aries (1st house — identity, self-expression), Scorpio (8th house — transformation, power).

- Element: Fire.

- Modality: Cardinal (initiating action, driving force).

2. Symbolism & Influence

- Mars represents the raw drive within us — the way we assert ourselves, pursue goals, and handle conflict.

- It governs physical energy, competition, and survival instincts, fueling both ambition and aggression.

It’s about how we express our physical energy, work towards what we desire, deal with competition and triggering experiences.

- This planet’s energy is fast, impulsive, and relentless, influencing how we fight, lead, and take risks.

3. Astrological & Seasonal Connection

- Mars rules Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, which kicks off the astrological year at the Spring Equinox— a time of fresh starts and bold movement.

- Just as springtime ignites growth, Mars’ energy pushes life forward, breaking through obstacles like a sprout emerging from the earth.

- Its influence can be seen in nature’s rapid change, from barren landscapes to blooming vitality.

4. Expression in the Art Piece

I created this untitled painting in the Spring of 2020. Always referring to it as the “Spring Painting”. It came to life live on Exxxotica TV during the COVID lockdown in 2020. It was a breakthrough experience for me and ultimately led to my future stage performances.

The painting and energy expressed through its creation mirrors Mars’ impulsive, instinctive energy — raw, unfiltered expression in the moment.
