Mapping my Artistic Progression
The continuous positive feedback from this piece ultimately lead me to creating erotica. As much as I love this piece, when compared to my later work I can see where I had not discovered techniques to create depth. However, the linear profile of “Being Poly” adds to the abstract charm of the piece.
Moving on to “Lover B.” After creating this piece I started noticing how colors can create depth and motion.
I transfered the motion and color concept to the Lovense “Lush 2” piece. The 80’s ascetic background brings a vibrating motion and mood to the piece. I also discovered how depth can be created by laying like colored vinyl next to eachother.
My second renditon of “Diogenes,” a piece created from a photo of my rectum, I started laying reflective chrome next to glossy and flat blacks.
Now notice how I integrate all of these techniques in my last four pieces:
