Kueroac and Context
After reading the Darma Bums by Jack Kueroac I did some digging around about who Kueroac was — I came across plenty of critics of his work, one that stands out is someone calling his work “typing not writing.” However, I also came across an interview with Kueroac where he made the point that knowing only one draft will be produced made him prepare better.
Having developed ideas and working them out in my writing follows this Kueroacian touch-and-go approach. Knowing that I don’t want to spend too much time on one article makes me think things through before hand and forces me to write in short bite-sized sprints.
Plenty of Context
Ever get annoyed at Youtubers that spend 2 mins of their videos telling you what they are going to tell you — even though you searched for the topic? We need to write as if in a vacuum, simple sentences and direct messages. However, we should publish knowing your work isn’t stand-alone, meaning it fits into your greater online presence. Most people that come across your content won’t be shocked that algorithms put your content in front of them. Content consumers come with some context for your content — so feel fine publishing 80% solution content.
